One NFC Team Recently Made A Massive Push To Try And Trade For Packers QB Rodgers

Videos by OutKick

It’s been quite a week in a variety of ways for current Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

The QB came out with a stunning announcement that he officially wants out of Green Bay, and he says a big part of the reason why is GM Brian Gutekunst.

“The reigning league MVP remains adamant that he won’t return to the team under the current stewardship of general manager Brian Gutekunst, a source in Rodgers’ camp said, and that he’s willing to weigh hardline options at his disposal — from refusing to show up for offseason activities to holding out of training camp and possibly retirement,” Yahoo reports.

“Asked if anything could be done to repair the relationship between Rodgers and the team, the source said a reconciliation may not be possible if Gutekunst remains and that team president Mark Murphy is aware of the quarterback’s feelings about the general manager.”

Rodgers has been rather vocal since the end of the year that leaving Green Bay could happen, and while it’s anyone’s guess where A-Rod might end up, one team apparently has already been on the prowl for him.

According to Sports Talk Radio Host Bill Michaels, the team that has their eyes on A-Rod is the San Francisco 49ers. Michaels reports that the Niners already made a massive trade offer to the Packers in order to get Aaron Rodgers.

Back in March, the Miami Dolphins agreed to trade to the 49ers the No. 3 overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft in exchange for the No. 12 pick, a 2022 third-round pick and first-round picks in 2022 and 2023.

We shall see whether the Niners or the Fins or someone else can come up with a trade offer that will make Green Bay think twice.

Till then, A-Rod is still wearing the Packers green and gold, while the rest of the league waits to see what happens next in this saga.

    • why? I would take 3 years of Aaron Rodgers over Trevor Lawrence and the unknown of Trevor Lawrence. 3 years of being a Super Bowl contender is worth a shit ton more than any #1 pick lottery ticket.

I mean, fuck, Tom Brady is 44 and still playing and winning Super Bowls. If the Colts could do it all over again, do they trade the Luck pick and keep Peyton? Probably cost them 1-2 super bowls …

      • I remember thinking that at the time. People thought that Andrew Luck was going to be playing for well over a decade, but he didn’t play much longer than Peyton did. Go with what you know, and Rodgers is solid.

    • Is the Browns roster better than the Packers? Really? All this noise about how bad the Packers roster is gaslighting to benefit the Rodgers got screwed media narrative. You don’t have the best offense in the league without “weapons”, which A Jones, D Adams, their O-Line, and TE all are. The reality is whatever team that Rodgers might go to (Raiders, Broncos) are worse than GB with much worse O-lines…good luck with that, Hollywood 12
