OddsShark Bowl Game Preview

From Wednesday through Christmas Eve, college football bettors will be treated to a half dozen bowl games to wager on across the country, half of which involve Mountain West teams. Starting with the aptly named Poinsettia Bowl in San Diego and wrapping up with the annual Hawaii Bowl that has been traditionally played on Christmas Eve or Day, there is plenty of betting action if you want to earn extra shopping money during the year's busiest holiday week.

The Wyoming Cowboys (8-5) will take on a former MWC school in the BYU Cougars (8-4) in the Poinsettia Bowl after losing the conference championship game 27-24 to the San Diego State Aztecs, who earned another postseason victory by winning the Las Vegas Bowl last Saturday.

The Cougars are listed as 10-point favorites against the Cowboys at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com, and they have won the past seven meetings straight up to go along with a 6-1 mark against the spread. BYU is also an impressive 6-1 SU in its last seven games versus MWC opponents, according to the OddsShark College Football Database.
