Washington Football Team Set To Pick A New Team Name From This List

Things are getting serious for the Washington Football Team and Daniel Snyder as its search for a new team name rolls on. Snyder and his minions are down to eight choices that were released to the public this week via the Adam Schefter podcast.

The list includes:

D.C. sports radio host Kevin Sheehan tweeted Tuesday that the team has made its choice and you can scratch No. 8, Washington Football Team, off the list. It won't be one of the greatest non-nickname nicknames in sports history, which is a shame for all of those people who have purchased Football Team gear and will have to spend even more money to bring themselves up to speed with the franchise.

"Just want to repeat….they have decided on the name. The “3” finalists include a plan B and plan C in the event the vetting of their choice somehow fell apart. But they have it," Sheehan tweeted.

In typical Washington Redskins/Football Team fashion, Schefter was scrambling Wednesday to clarify what was said on his show by WFT co-owner and co-CEO Tanya Snyder. Yes, it's Dan's wife.

"A WFT spokesperson said this morning that the list of eight names is a selection of names that were highlighted in their Making the Brand video, not a final list of potential name candidates," Schefter tweeted Wednesday.

Get it on, you schmucks. Name a name or shut up. Pick the Red Hogs and let's all just move on. In fact, you guys name it the Red Hogs and my ass is the first person in line (virtually) for one of those shirtseys.

Defenders is dumb. Red Wolves is a CFL franchise waiting to happen. WFT has been ruled out. Commanders is probably the odds-on favorite here. Armada is a Nissan. Presidents is just asking to piss off people.

Looks like Commanders it is. Jeep stopped using that name years ago, so Dan should be good to go here.
