Video: Gun Pulled on Trent Richardson at Furniture Store

Trent Richardson, the former running back for Alabama, the Browns, and the Colts, had a gun pulled on him during a dispute in a furniture store in Alabama by the show owner's wife. TMZ obtained video of the incident, and both sides of the story.

Richardson's side, told to TMZ by his manager, Brian Bowers, is that he ordered thousands of dollars of furniture from Furniture Plug in Birmingham. It arrived with significant damage -- tears in a couch, a dresser missing handles, and a cracked bed frame. Bowers told TMZ that Richardson was getting the "runaround" from the store, and went to confront them in person on October 28th. Then, Bowers said, the furniture store owner challenged Richardson to a fight, Richardson declined to fight the man in front of his wife, the wife pulled the gun, and he made a swift exit.

Furniture Plug's owner Clint Catlin told TMZ that Richardson was the aggressor: "We were protecting our store. Trent came in aggressive. My wife being her, she was protecting her space ... Trent's a big guy, came in aggressive. He made her pull out the pistol. This is a family business. We were protecting our brand."

Catlin's wife, Mariah, told TMZ "I felt Clint's life, my life and our 7-year-old's life were threatened."

There is a gallery of photos showing the furniture damage on the TMZ story; Catlin told TMZ that the furniture arrived intact.

While I can't speak for the circumstances of who was the aggressor in the fight, I worked in the furniture industry for 1.5 years before getting into sports blogging and I'm inclined to believe Richardson that the items arrived at his house damaged. Damages are very frequent in the furniture delivery process and it is also very difficult to pin accountability on the delivery workers.
