Josh Gordon Back In NFL Again. Sort Of.

Josh Gordon is back ... again. You know Gordon, the ultra-talented and embattled wide receiver.

You know every reinstatement comes with its risks. But man, what a talent.

Anyway, reinstatement from the NFL is precisely what Gordon has received, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. Gordon is expected to be eligible to play in Week Four.

Granted, Gordon is 30-years old and hasn't played since the 2019 season with the Seattle Seahawks. He is eight years removed from his last All-Pro season. So the days of big-risk, high-reward may be over. He might just be a big risk now.

Then again, Gordon won't cost anyone a lot of money. He has a history of getting along with coaches and teammates and of always being a media favorite. Plus, he's a "name."

"Gordon will be eligible to sign with any team, though widespread interest is unlikely," wrote Sam Robinson of Pro Football Rumors. "He caught 27 passes for 426 yards and one touchdown in 2019, splitting the year in New England and Seattle. Gordon showed superstar potential as a young player, and his 14-game 2013 season still sits sixth on the NFL’s receiving yards-per-game list (117.6)."

That said, the man has not been able to play a full season since 2019. So while he may be reinstated, it may not automatically mean he's back in the NFL.
