NFL Week 14 Betting Picks: Redskins, Packers

Where are the money-making opportunities on the Week 14 NFL betting slate? Here's a breakdown of two matchups that have the potential to fatten your wallet on Sunday.

Washington Redskins vs. Chicago Bears

The NFC East cannot get any messier right now with three teams tied for the division lead at 5-7. The Redskins are one of them and blew a great opportunity to move into sole possession of first place by losing to the Cowboys 19-16 as two-point home favorites on Monday night. But Washington now gets to play the Bears (5-7), who are coming off a stunning 26-20 home loss to the 49ers in overtime last week after they upset the Packers on Thanksgiving night.

Chicago was six-point chalk against San Francisco and has gone 1-7 ATS in the past eight meetings as a favorite versus the Redskins. In fact, this is only the second time the Bears have been favored this year, and they have performed terribly in home games recently with a 3-12 record straight-up and 5-10 mark ATS in their previous 15 there. While Washington is riding a nine-game road losing streak, that will end here with an upset win at Soldier Field.

Dallas Cowboys vs. Green Bay Packers

Dallas was on the winning end of last week's Monday Night Football matchup to keep its postseason hopes alive, but that will likely end with a blowout road loss to the Packers (8-4). The Cowboys will be away from home for the second straight week, and playing Monday left them with one less day to prepare for a well-rested Green Bay team. The Packers have played on Thursday the past two weeks, giving them extra time to get ready for Dallas.

Green Bay is coming off a 27-23 come-from-behind road victory against the Detroit Lions last week, with quarterback Aaron Rodgers completing a Hail Mary pass to tight end Richard Rodgers for the game-winning touchdown on the final play. The Packers beat the spread as 2.5-point road favorites at Detroit and must cover a bigger number in this spot at home.

But the favorite in this series with the Cowboys is 17-3 SU and 15-5 ATS, making Green Bay an attractive play. Dallas has also gone 4-11 SU and ATS in its last 15 matchups with NFC North opponents, so fade the visiting team and back the host as the Pack covers.
