New Clippers HC Can't Remember Own Player's Name

The Los Angeles Clippers traded for Pistons guard Luke Kennard last month, and the deal was considered a home run. Or perhaps a slam dunk. One would therefore think that Kennard's name would be worth remembering for the Clippers faithful. Apparently their newly-hired head coach Ty Lue missed that memo. He forgot his name completely.

Ty Lue isn't a bad coach, but this is pretty sad. Part of his job is to know his own roster. We've all drawn a blank thinking of a player or two from our favorite teams, but we're not the coach. He is.

Lue won an NBA championship in Cleveland in 2016 with LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love at his disposal. Maybe he knocked it out the park with the Cavaliers because those names were worth remembering?

What makes this epic space-out even funnier is the clueless look on his face. Ty was hired because of his ability to lead the Clippers when they clearly lack leadership, not to look like he has no clue what's going on.

The basketball world just watched the Lakers ink LeBron James to a long-term extension, while the Clippers traded for a player their own coach can't remember. It might be time to move Kawhi, Pandemic P, and Coach Lue to Inglewood before they hurt themselves.
