New York Times Board Member About to Get Really Bothered with This Anthem Performance

Fans are allowed back into hockey arenas. That alone sends an L straight toward the New York Times. Here comes another one.

Fans gathered together for a NY Islanders playoff game at the Coliseum on Wednesday, and as is still customary at NHL hockey games, sang the national anthem, led by Nicole Raviv, before the first puck drop. We live in the greatest country in the world, and we should never take that for granted.

Most Americans will watch the following video and feel a sense of pride. Others will get mad. TV/Twitter mad, that is.

Among those bothered will undoubtedly be Mara Gay, an analyst on MSNBC and an editorial board member at the New York Times. Quite the gig, if you can get it.

Earlier this week, Gay used her TV time on MSNBC to inform us that supporting the American flag is “just disturbing.”

No, this didn’t originate from The Onion:

To make matters even better, Gay concluded that most Americans must be racist since she saw several American flags in Long Island, where Raviv and thousands of proud Americans sang together.

“In some cases, just dozens of American flags, which is also just disturbing,” Gay says.

How awful. Shame on them.

Now, I’m about to post something very offensive. You’ve been warned:

  1. Hey Bobby,
AMAZINGLY GREAT FANS at the Coliseum…tears in my eyes (missed the anthem live, watched from mid-2nd period). As others have said…thanks Bobby for all your efforts !!!

  2. Hey Bobby,
To me, more disturbing than the flaming libtard guest on msnbc were the three stooges on the top half of the screen who sat there and listened like complete clowns!!! But the gig pays their bills, so if they can stand the shame…
You know that “they know” they’re acting like the worst kinds of examples of role models to their families. And when this shit goes away, as it inevitably will, they’ll be even bigger fools.

  3. I encourage her to visit Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Wellington, KS on any Memorial Day where they fly a 4×6 American flag, 20 feet apart, on either side of the roads throughout the whole cemetary. Thousands of flags blowing in the Kansas wind. It’s like a movie set. Dramatic and throat catching. In addition a small flag is placed on every veteran’s grave. You know, all those guys who gave her the right to be an idiot. It might trigger her right into the grave.

  4. I know it is off topic but in honor of Jeffrey Toobin returning to CNN.

Can you help me get the hashtag #CNNExposed trending.

It was originally for the leaked video of a CNN director talking about CNN propaganda but I think it is also appropriate for Toobin.

  5. This is awesome, and credit to Nicole Raviv for stepping back and letting the crowd sing. I hope the Islanders keep winning, and their fans do this at every home game. Is there a way to get a feed sent directly to the NY Times and MSNBC?
