New York Times Board Member About to Get Really Bothered with This Anthem Performance

Fans are allowed back into hockey arenas. That alone sends an L straight toward the New York Times. Here comes another one.

Fans gathered together for a NY Islanders playoff game at the Coliseum on Wednesday, and as is still customary at NHL hockey games, sang the national anthem, led by Nicole Raviv, before the first puck drop. We live in the greatest country in the world, and we should never take that for granted.

Most Americans will watch the following video and feel a sense of pride. Others will get mad. TV/Twitter mad, that is.

Among those bothered will undoubtedly be Mara Gay, an analyst on MSNBC and an editorial board member at the New York Times. Quite the gig, if you can get it.

Earlier this week, Gay used her TV time on MSNBC to inform us that supporting the American flag is "just disturbing."

No, this didn't originate from The Onion:

To make matters even better, Gay concluded that most Americans must be racist since she saw several American flags in Long Island, where Raviv and thousands of proud Americans sang together.

“In some cases, just dozens of American flags, which is also just disturbing," Gay says.

How awful. Shame on them.

Now, I'm about to post something very offensive. You've been warned:
