Vanderbilt's Football, Basketball Facilities Getting $300M Facelift

It is about damn time. Right, Vandy fans?

According to Adam Sparks with the Tennessean, Vanderbilt announced on Monday morning that facility upgrades are coming for football and basketball. Those upgrades are going to cost a pretty penny though -- $300 million, to be exact.

Anyone who keeps up with Commodore athletics knows that this was much needed. The current facilities are some of the worst in the SEC, which makes it that much harder to compete for high-profile recruits.

According to Sparks, that $300 million will go towards the following:

Vanderbilt is always going to have a tough time pulling in recruits because of their academic demands, but there was no reason for them to be this far behind in athletic facilities. Nashville is still a desirable location for many, and it's still a SEC program.

The new leadership at the university is already making a difference, and fans certainly appreciate that.
