NCAA Pours Cold Water on ACC's 346-Team Tournament Idea

On Wednesday, we brought you the news that ACC college basketball coaches were presenting a proposal to the NCAA to allow all 346 eligible teams into 2021 March Madness. Thus, it was inevitable that on Thursday we would bring you the news that the NCAA is already pooh-poohing that idea:

Whenever someone issues a statement like this that includes the words "at this time," the mind runs to the Dumb and Dumber scene where Mary tells Lloyd there's a one in a million shot they'd wind up together and Lloyd is psyched that there's a chance.

Who knows what the next steps are here, but if the ACC feels strongly about the idea they should keep fighting for it because the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
