NCAAB Best Bets for Saturday, November 20, 2021

College Basketball has been great so far with some unexpected upsets already and some dominant performances by some of the elite programs. Saturday brings us a full slate of basketball games and we are going to touch on two games I think we can play.

North Carolina vs Purdue

Both of these teams come into this game averaging 90+ points on the campaign. It is usually pretty easy to do that when you are playing what is, all due respect, inferior competition. But, to score that many points in a college game still takes two things – a fast pace of play, and shooting accuracy. North Carolina struggles a bit on defense in the early going and I expect that to continue a bit, but I still see them trying to push the ball as much as possible. Purdue is only listed as the home team, but unfortunately for them, this big matchup isn’t played in their home arena. I expect that they still look to get out into transition and score in bunches. I’m taking the over on this game 151.5

Utah vs Boston College

Just because they aren’t big names or big matchups doesn’t mean it can’t be a fun game to watch… or even a fun thing to bet on. The Utah Utes have started the campaign with three easy wins against some lower-level opponents. Boston College was rolling as well until they lost to Rhode Island earlier this week. Maybe it was too much of a look ahead to this weekend’s “bigger” game. Rhode Island beat them with a very balanced attack. The two centers on the team combined for 18 points and 15 rebounds. I think it will be a… ahem… tall task for the Eagles to stop Utah’s Branden Carlson in the game. I’ll take my shot with Utah, rough trip coming across country, but I’ll play -8.5 -105.
