LeBron James Picks A Side Between The NBA, Unvaccinated Players

Since OutKick isn't afraid to call balls and strikes, credit has been rightfully given to the NBA and its players for providing a refreshing sense of unity in the midst of divisive vaccinated versus unvaccinated storylines coming out of sports.

When players such as Bradley Beal or Jonathan Isaac voice their trepidations with getting vaccinated, fellow NBA players have willingly stepped up to defend their choices.

And no matter how much it hurts, we have to give credit to LeBron James for uncharacteristically going against the grain on the vaxx mandates.

This week, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green made headlines when he delivered a perfect take on why regulating other players' decisions to get vaccinated is an unjust standard — and at the end of the day, no one's business. Teammate Andrew Wiggins may potentially miss home games due to Oakland's requirement to get vaccinated to attend indoor sporting venues, and Draymond has found the overreach off-putting.

As the video of Green's defense for Wiggins circulated social media, courtesy of OutKick's Gary Sheffield, Jr., LeBron James picked up the tweet and commented: "Couldn't have said it better @."

Green said the following talking to the press on Thursday:

“When you make something so political, not everyone will be into the politics,” said Green. “You can also turn those people off. I think there is something to be said for people’s concern for something that is pressed so hard. Like, why are you pressing so hard?”

Because of a mandatory, albeit unnecessary, vaccination rule, the NFL, MLB and countless leagues — from the minors to the majors — have willingly fired long-time executives, and even ousted players, over skipping the vaccine.

The NBA and players association have been one of the first leagues to give the mandates some pushback — setting up an intriguing tug of war between the remaining unvaccinated players and commissioner Adam Silver's wish to see 100 percent of players get the shot. Roughly 95 percent of the Association has been vaccinated.

What's next: Don Lemon taking a night off of sounding like a tone-deaf elite? It's a sign of the times.
