NASCAR Community Has Bubba Wallace’s Back Before Talladega Green Flag

Bubba Wallace seemed fired up for the start of today’s race at Talladega after an emotional pre-race where Bubba’s No. 43 car was pushed to the starting grid by NASCAR drivers as teams followed behind. A member of Wallace’s team found a noose in the garage area Sunday and brought it to the attention of NASCAR officials who have turned over the investigation to the FBI, according to NASCAR president Steve Phelps.

“We don’t have a lot of answers at this moment,” Phelps told the media before today’s race. According to NASCAR reporter Jeff Gluck, the FBI is onsite and Phelps adds that NASCAR is in the “early stages of this.”

As for cameras in the garage that might’ve caught someone in the act of placing a noose, Phelps seems ready to let the FBI do its work.

“We’re not going to get into the specifics about the number of cameras (or) what is on the cameras. … It will be part of what the FBI is looking at. Too early to get into specifics around what we were able to capture on video.”

Bubba Wallace sent out one tweet today simply stating, “Together.”

Here’s the latest on the NASCAR noose investigation:
