Naomi Osaka Is Back Home In Beverly Hills At Her $7 Million House

Naomi Osaka is reportedly back to the friendly confines of the swanky $7 million house she bought from Nick Jonas back in 2019 as she rose to fame after beating Serena Williams in 2018 at the U.S. Open. Osaka said her exit from the French Open came because of a "bout of depression," but her issues in Paris came after she refused to do mandatory press conferences.

“The best thing for the tournament, the other players and my well-being is that I withdraw so that everyone can get back to focusing on the tennis going on in Paris,” she tweeted. “I never wanted to be a distraction and I accept that my timing was not ideal and my message could have been clearer.”

Osaka went on to say that she's suffered long bouts of depression since 2018 and that as an introvert she does her best at tennis events to wear headphones to "dull" her social anxiety. She added that public speaking brings on waves of anxiety and the press conferences are stressful.

"I'm gonna take some time away from the court now, but when the time is right I really want to work with the Tour to discuss ways we can make things better for the players, press and fans," Osaka wrote.

So now it's back to the Beverly Hills compound where the 23-year-old, who has made upwards of $38 million in earnings over the last year, will now hole up in the 3,100 sq. ft. indoor/outdoor modernist house that features three bedrooms and four bathrooms.

"The custom milled interior paneling and cabinetry is crafted of exquisitely grained Machiche wood, as are the exterior fencing, decking and siding," according to a Realtor.com listing for the residence.

Osaka will be able to recharge the batteries in the infinity pool, open the floor-to-ceiling windows and not have to worry about all those media members who would've caused her anxiety to rise. Look at that pool and that view. Ignore the fact that it's California for a minute. This is some nice living away from the tennis media and everything that comes with earning $38 million in a year.
