Major League Baseball is so bothered by Georgia’s non-racist new voting bill that it is moving the All-Star Game out of Atlanta. Major League Baseball is also so comfortable with the genocide in China that it just struck a deal with Tencent to stream MLB games in China. MLB is quite proud of this new streaming deal, locking it up until 2023.
Let that sit for a bit, then read on.
Tencent is one of the Chinese firms that dropped NBA games in 2019 because then-Rockets GM Daryl Morey said he supported human rights in Hong Kong. Strict rules with those guys.
MLB will not shut up and pitch if a state requires voter ID, but it sure will when it comes to the genocidal Communist Party of China. At least, as of last week.
Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio crushed these MLB decisions on Twitter, asking, “Why are we still listening to these woke corporate hypocrites on taxes, regulations & anti-trust?”
Sadly, woke corporate hypocrites are making most decisions these days. In fact, they are making all decisions in sports.
The NBA should have been a warning to all businesses. If you bow to both the far-Left and China, your consumers will turn away from you. The NBA’s unwavering support of China Chairman Xi cost the league half of its audience in the Finals. That’s what happens when decision-makers lack a backbone. Don’t follow their lead.
On Fox & Friends, OutKick’s Clay Travis spoke about what sports fans should do in reaction to MLB’s idiotic decision:

On his new podcast, Will Cain made the point that sports fans aren’t the ones making the decision, that sports are boycotting them:
“Sports are boycotting average Americans.” – @willcain.
100%. The NBA was the first and its rating hit all-time lows as a result. https://t.co/2iHDPZYEyQ

My advice to MLB: let the NBA ruin its business alone. My advice to the rest of the country: speak out against the Communist Party of China and its inhumane treatment of people, both citizens and noncitizens alike.
