Last night, we went 2-1 with our games on a shortened slate. Now, most of the teams are back in action, and we find ourselves once again with an opportunity to make some cash.

Astros vs. Red Sox

The Astros are quietly putting together a nice campaign, and the Red Sox are surprisingly fourteen games above .500. This is a battle of two second-place teams that are looking to keep making up ground. I’m going to take the Astros tonight, despite the fact that the Red Sox hit better at home and hit lefties. So why the Astros? The Red Sox are hitting just .189 against Framber Valdez, who is sporting a 1.64 ERA. Granted, he has pitched only two games so far, but one of those was a dominant effort last week against these very same Red Sox. Sharps have also pushed this from opening at -110 to -118.

Giants vs. Rangers

The Giants have been very hot lately. This is another matchup where I’m looking at the starting pitching to be the reasoning for my bet. Texas has been striking out 9 times per game on the season, good for the bottom third of the league. Alex Wood isn’t a big strikeout pitcher, but I see a nice prop on FanDuel for him to get 4+ strikeouts and the Giants to win the game. That is at -104. I’ll take that play, as I think both are very likely to happen. If you think he can get to five strikeouts, the prop goes up to +126. I’d be okay but not comfortable with that.

Blue Jays vs. White Sox

I love Carlos Rodon. OutKick even shared a piece on him having value for Cy Young. He’s had a couple of bad divisional starts, but overall he has had a very nice season, throwing to a 1.98 ERA. The White Sox at home are already 13 games over .500, and they feast on lefty pitching. Tonight, they get to face a lefty who has been accommodating to the long-ball so far. He’s given up 14 in 10 games. I’m backing the White Sox on the run line at +128

Player Props – I’m only looking at plus money and only where there are some trends or value. Keep that in mind.
