A 1-1 day yesterday after our Royals pitcher got scratched from his start, we grabbed a little extra with the Yankees sprinkle if you played it. Onto Saturday!

White Sox/Dodgers Parlay

This is a play based mainly on the starting pitchers. I really like the Dodgers to win, to win by more than one run, and even have the Reds score less than three runs, but overall, I’m going to play this a different way. Max Scherzer starts for the Dodgers against the Reds, and Scherzer is still a dark horse to steal the NL Cy Young with how great he’s been since coming over. I don’t see that changing today. For the White Sox, you have a guy that was the Cy Young favorite a few weeks ago pitching – Lance Lynn. Lynn takes on his former team the Rangers and should easily win this matchup against a team that is really struggling. I’m playing their moneylines in a parlay at +102. (You can substitute the Astros for Dodgers if you see this play late).

Tigers vs. Rays

Today the Rays and Tigers both send southpaws to the mound to battle for the win. The Tigers have Tarik Skubal, a 4.21 ERA pitcher going to the mound for them. In his career, he has faced Rays hitters 30 times and held them to just a .088 batting average. While that isn’t a ton of experience, it is still a decent amount to say that the Rays may struggle against him today. The Rays have Ryan Yarbrough pitching for them, and he is a 5.27 ERA pitcher that has struggled a bit at home so far. His problem has been consistency though. He basically is either giving up five or more earned runs or two or less earned runs. Tigers hitters are only batting .181 against Yarbrough though, so I’ll play the under 8.5 in this game at -114.

Mariners vs. Royals

In another game with two lefties on the hill, we have the Seattle Mariners taking on the Kansas City Royals. The Royals are throwing Kris Bubic who has put together a couple of nice starts in a row. Bubic has allowed nine hits in 23 at-bats to Mariners hitters though, so he isn’t exactly seeing success. There is reason for optimism with the Royals though, as they get to face Yusei Kikuchi, who has a 5.57 night game ERA. Royals hitters are also batting 12 for 41 against him, so they too have some success. Kikuchi has also not been consistent, and I don’t expect him to have a great game tonight. The Royals have success against lefty pitchers too, I wish I could find their record against them but at one point they won something like seven straight starts against left-handed pitching. I’m going to play the Royals to win this game at -108.
