Mitchell Trubisky's 1st Kiss Of 2021, Greg Norman's Feeling Better & Simpsons Predicted Bills 6,700 Attendance

What the hell was with Cyndi Lauper last night?

That headline should tell you everything you need to know about my night. Thai food for dinner, sliced oranges for the kids to get their Vitamin C, glass of some peach champagne my wife rounded up at the locally owned grocery store and Cyndi Lauper, 67, sounding like she was either not hearing the music or just acting her age and not able to sing. It was the perfect end-of-the-year train wreck I needed to keep me awake. I included the video below if you fell asleep or were busy crushing brewskis with the neighbors in the garage.

The New Year's shows, minus J-Lo's writhing performance, continue to try to out-gay each other. Andy Cohen really got a kick out of Snoop's friend swallowing a sword while jumping in a pool. Ryan Seacrest countered with Billy Porter wearing shoulder pads that made it look like he was about to play middle linebacker for the Giants on the concrete at old Giants Stadium.

And that was that. It's time to get down to business with the college football playoff (see my prayer below). The slate isn't the best ever New Year's Day buffet, but let's stay positive early in 2021. Don't sleep on Cincinnati at noon against Georgia. The Bearcats are motivated, UGA will be playing in a mostly empty stadium, and we all saw what kind of motivation Florida had in the Cotton Bowl.

Same goes with Northwestern against Auburn in the Citrus Bowl.

Now for my big concern today. My father called Thursday to chat, and I went ahead and told him I think the Buckeyes get blown out by at least 17. Three scores at least. My gut says it gets ugly early.

Great question here from Adam Carolla as 2021 rolls along. "Who is worse: drive alone with mask on guy or walk alone on the beach mask guy?"

• First prayer of 2021: Lord, please don't make it too hard on Notre Dame later today at Jerry's World. I'm not a Notre Dame fan, but I need the game to be interesting or it's going to be a boring afternoon.
