Missouri HC Eli Drinkwitz Throws Shade At Ex-Florida HC Dan Mullen

Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz isn't letting ex-Florida head coach Dan Mullen live down the Gators' loss to the Tigers on Saturday.

Appearing on 1010 AM/92.5 FM in Jacksonville on Tuesday, Drinkwitz gave a harsh critique of Mullen after his firing.

“My father was a farmer, and there’s an old saying you reap what you sow," Drinkwitz said. "If you sow kindness, you reap kindness. If you sow jackass, you reap jackass.”

Fresh off beating Florida 24-23 in overtime, Drinkwitz got one back at Mullen, channeling his best Obi-Wan Kenobi impression in response to Mullen dawning full Darth Vader garb after Florida beat Missouri in 2020. Drinkwitz made sure to bring out his lightsaber before dropping a classic line.

"May the force be with you," said Drinkwitz, before he walked off the podium.

Missouri, now 6-5, reached bowl eligibility with the win over Florida. Florida, meanwhile, needs a win over rival Florida State to become bowl eligible. After his firing on Sunday, Mullen rejected the opportunity to coach in that game.
