Missouri Bartender Accuses Man Of Using Fake Military I.D., Blows Up On Military Members

The LOTO Lounge in Osage Beach, Missouri is in full apology mode after a recent incident where a bartender refused service to a military member who tried to use his military ID to buy a drink. The bartender, who’s now been identified as Josh Weitkamp, wads up the ID and throws it in the trash as he yells at the customers that he can recognize a fake ID and he’s not falling for it.

LOTO has since said Weitkamp is not a bartender but has close ties to the bar. Whatever the case, he refused to serve the military members and went on a long diatribe about IDs and how he wouldn’t give it back until cops told him to turn it over.

Noel Cook a member of the U.S. Air Force posted the following on Facebook:

“Myself and 5 other military friends were at Loto Lounge where this drunk bartender (Josh Weitkamp) started to destroy someone’s military ID because he ‘used to be a cop and knows what an ID is supposed to look like’ and bends her card and throws it in the trash, refusing to let us retrieve it and just leave.

“So he tells us to call the cops. If you can see, the blonde bartender is 1) urging us to call the cops and 2) also calls the cops. I appreciate her efforts since she realizes that he is getting out of hand. I’ve never been more heated about a non-racial interaction with someone and the straight disrespect he had for fellow service members ESPECIALLY when some of us (if not all) joined the military because of 9/11 and how it shaped our upbringing.

“I hope you see this Josh Weitkamp and know that your actions that night will define you as a person. Actions always speak louder than words.”

LOTO Lounge issued an apology on Facebook, but the bar’s page has since been deleted. A Google Cache for the bar’s page reveals the following statement that was released before the page was deactivated:

“We, at LOTO Lounge, deeply regret the events of May 2nd and want to stress that we have tremendous respect for military members and their service to our country. Josh Weitkamp is not a bartender at LOTO Lounge; he is a local musician who has personal ties to the venue. He is extremely remorseful for his actions and we are working to make amends with the military members involved. We will do our best to reach out privately to those individuals and to publicly convey our appreciation to all military members in the future.”

  1. That little Karen girl behind the bar saying “the cop is coming” needs to be identified and jailed too. She should have retrieve the military ID from the trash can and respectfully return the card, instead of hiding behind the counter and the cop talk.

  2. This will not age well for Josh and the LOTO Lounge. What a fucking idiot. I’m guessing the LOTO Lounge is done. I wouldn’t go there after seeing this. Apparently, everyone doesn’t know your name and they’re not glad you came at the LOCO Lounge .

    • I’ll make it a point to NOT GO to the “loto bullshit lounge”. And I’ll be sure to let them know.
      Fuck the owner, too.
That’s like employees spitting in cops drinks…there’s no going back.
You hire dirtbags…douchebags…you suffer the consequences.

  3. The bartender was a prick but Jesus pickles social media is literally the worse thing ever. Prick bartender throws away your I.D. cops are called you get I.D. back. Bummer sure but no one else cares, and they don’t care if you had a good cheese burger today, or if you stepped in gum, or if the bus driver yelled at your kid…Facebook and social media is why America is completely soft today. Any one who has any mild inconvenience types about it and all their friends and family throw them a pity party about how sorry they are.

        • I do get what you’re saying and I don’t disagree . I hate the fact that every fucking thing is on a cell phone camera now. But why would I want to go to a bar where some hang around bartender/barback/wanna be bouncer guy cant handle his alcohol and acts like a moron, and a female bartender likes to call the cops . Plus, all they wanted was the ID back and they would leave. I’m sure he acts like a tough guy all the time. No way to treat people who want to spend money at the establishment u work at. Fuck that guy and fuck that bar.
