Mike Tyson Was Very...Sleepy...During British Morning Show Interview

There is concern for Mike Tyson after he appeared Tuesday morning on UK's Good Morning Britain talk show with Piers Morgan. He had trouble keeping his head up, and his speech was slurred. Was Mike just stoned? Was he just sleepy after a busy schedule promoting his November 28 fight against Roy Jones Jr.?

Or is there a problem? Tyson says there's no problem, he was just tired.

"I tried to stay up late for interview but fell asleep, and like a lion I'm hard to wake once asleep," Tyson said on Twitter. "Training hard and going to bed early. I had no monitor so I couldn't see you guys and forgot to look into camera."

Tyson, 54, is scheduled to fight Jones over eight three-minute rounds. It's being called an exhibition, with the fighters trying to "exhibit their boxing abilities," according to Andy Foster of the California State Athletic Commission.

"We can't mislead the public as to this is some kind of real fight," Foster said in September. "They can get into it a little bit, but I don't want people to get hurt. They know the deal.

"It's an exhibition. They can exhibit their boxing skills, but I don't want them using their best efforts to hurt each other. They're going to spar hard, but they shouldn't be going for a knockout. This isn't a record-book type of fight. This is not world-championship boxing right now. It's not what this is. People shouldn't be getting knocked out. The public can see what kind of shape Roy and Mike are still in."

Mike sure seems to be taking the training seriously. He's so tired that fight promotion interviews are getting awkward. The lesson here is that we shouldn't expect Mike to stay up so late to do live TV in Great Britain. He should consider recording them instead.

I'm tired just watching Mike's latest hype video:
