Michigan's Terrible Defensive Coordinator Praises Jim Harbaugh

What is Michigan defensive coordinator Don Brown doing on a radio show when the Wolverines are 1-2 after giving up 38 points to Indiana and fielding one of the worst Wolverine defenses in recent memory? Brown better have a paid spot on the Stoney & Jansen Show because there's no other reason for the guy to be doing a radio show right now as even the most loyal Michigan fans lose all interest in this team.

"I don’t think anybody likes criticism. I mean, I’d be lying to you," Brown said on the Stoney & Jansen Show. "Sometimes I get a little disappointed – and I’ve been completely kind of blindsided. (I've) stayed out of the social media circles during the season, no matter what’s going on, but it’s concerning. I could care less for me, but we have an outstanding head coach who does a tremendous job. I just think he’s a perfect head coach.

"So that part of it, and I don’t like to see criticism of payers. I just think that’s over the top when you’re talking about 18 to 22-year-old young men that are just trying to do the best they can for Michigan."

Brown, 65, shouldn't even be employed by Michigan at this point, but he is. What's more, he's still doing radio gigs and singing the praises of his boss, Jim Harbaugh. He used some of the same words that Rich Rodriguez used a week ago. Jim Harbaugh is great, perfect, tremendous. It's starting to get cultish. Of course Brown isn't going to go on the radio show and trash his boss, but this is a little over the top, don't you think?

Michigan Man would say Brown should put the blame squarely on his own shoulders and resign. The problem here is that nobody associated with the program is man enough to tell things how they are and take responsibility.

If you think Don's batshit crazy, here's what Harbaugh said about having confidence in his defensive coordinator after Saturday's loss to Indiana. “Yes I do,” Harbaugh said. “Very much so. I love all of our coaches, every coach on this staff. They work extremely hard. Their schemes are very good, and they’re coaching good. Just keep forging ahead, stay after it to make that next step. Critical step.”

Perhaps everyone involved has come to the conclusion that this is a COVID season, and now they're just trying to get to December and move on with life. That has to be the case because, at this point, it's laughable how far Michigan is willing to fall without someone getting axed.
