Michigan Man Arrested In Florida For Pushing His Parents Over OSU-UM Game

While we hate to see it happen, it never fails that fans get all emotional over a big football game and then fly off the handle. This year it was in the massive Villages retirement mecca in Florida where Michigan man Richard Louis Zaiki, 57, was arrested in the Village of Amelia for getting into a 2:30 a.m. shoving match at his parents' residence, according to the Villages News.

The newspaper reported that a drunken Zaiki, who did some time from 2017 to 2019 according to a Michigan Department of Corrections database, pushed his 84-year-old father and his mom, 83, "because of the Michigan college football game."

Deputies from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office noted that Zaiki and his parents are all from Michigan, but they didn't note the rooting interests associated with the individuals involved. It's unclear why Zaiki was mad with the game or if he's an Ohio State fan.

What we do know is that Rich started going nuts in the back of a deputy's car and bashed his head on a cage that left the nasty gash and head wound. He's now in the Sumter County Detention Center on two counts of battery with no bond.

Remember, folks, it's just a game! They come and go, but the charges on your record last a lifetime, and now Rich is sitting in a cell "because of the Michigan college football game."

And if Rich is a Michigan fan, this is a horrible spot to be this week. Be smarter. If you can't handle college football and booze, don't watch the game because we know you're not going to give up the booze.
