Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman has reported that Michigan football is feeling “optimistic” about an extension with head coach Jim Harbaugh through 2026.
Don’t want to be rude, but Ohio State and most ranked teams are praying this report is true.
SOURCE: There is optimism inside Michigan that Jim Harbaugh’s new deal will get wrapped up soon with an extension thru 2026.

Jim Harbaugh is currently 0-5 against Ohio State, 3-3 against Michigan State, 1-4 in bowl games, and 1-8 against top 10 teams. So what we’re getting at is that no one is afraid of a Harbaugh-led Michigan squad, and Michigan shouldn’t feel optimistic.
If anything, they should be coming to camp in 2021 with skepticism and overall wondering if Harbaugh is the man for the job. We don’t want to get hasty and make the claim he should be fired, but he definitely shouldn’t be handed the keys for the next six seasons. What has he done that solidified the future of the Michigan Wolverines?
Apparently Michigan’s athletic director and boosters have seen enough to overlook the results. Don’t expect the fans to do the same and if wins don’t start coming soon–it’ll get ugly quick.
Everybody wants to play for TOSU these days…great HC, great program, GREAT assistants…tough for Khaki Pants to compete with that…but there’s a solution.
Get your scouts and more importantly, get YOUR azz out into the boonies and actually do some selling. We see lots of smaller MICH and OH schools gobble up great talents (can you say “MAC”).
As Coach GOAT likes to say, “DO YOUR JOB!”
Headline cracked me up!
Let me get this straight…Texas has gone 34-18 and won all four bowl games since Tom Herman’s first season and he got fired and replaced in the same day. Michigan under Harbaugh since 2017 has gone 29-16 and is 0-3 in bowl games they have been in (they didn’t make a bowl appearance this year) and he’s getting an extension. Talk about a difference in expectations.
Michigan thinks they can’t do any better than Harbaugh.
Harbaugh is a “Michigan Man” – that carries weight there.
The headline gets an A+ in the he snark department.
Hahah. UM has their “Michigan Man” though so they are straight. Meanwhile every other team in the Big 10 can use that against Michigan in recruiting. Who wants to go play for a team stuck in the 1980’s offensively?
As a Penn State fan, I pray this is true.
