Michael Vick Hopes Lamar Jackson Will Usurp Him As All-Time Best Running QB

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson could break all of former NFL quarterback Michael Vick's records, and the former QB says he would love to see it happen.

TMZ Sports asked the former Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles star his thoughts about Jackson coming for his accolades, and the former quarterback said he is rooting for the Ravens QB.

"Hell yeah I'm rooting for it," Vick said. "It's for the good of the game of football. Records are made to be broken, baby."

Jackson led the Ravens with 120 yards in the victory over the Minnesota Vikings in Week 9, recording the 10th 100-yard rushing game of his career. This tied Vick for the most 100-yard rushing games by a quarterback in NFL history.

Vick, a four-time Pro Bowler, said he knows that Jackson's level of play will allow him to break the records he set playing for the Falcons, Eagles, New York Jets, and Pittsburgh Steelers.

"I know he gunning for it," Vick said. "I know he gunning for it."

Earlier this week, Jackson had his No. 8 jersey retired by his alma mater — the Louisville Cardinals — during the game against Syracuse at Cardinal Stadium on Nov. 13, just a day before the school announced that the NFL player will have a street near the stadium named after him.

Jackson was the youngest Heisman Trophy winner with numbers of 5,114 total yards and 51 touchdowns in 2016 before being drafted in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

TMZ Sports reports that Jackson is also less than 2,600 yards away from catching Vick for most all-time rushing yards by a QB.

The Ravens (6-3) were defeated 10-22 by the Miami Dolphins (3-7) in Week 10 and will next face the Chicago Bears in Week 11 on Sunday, Nov. 21, with kickoff set for 1 p.m. EST.
