From Bad To Worse: Mets GM Caught Behind The Wheel And Under The Influence

Following a strenuous weekend at Citi Field that saw the New York team's upper brass castigate Mets second baseman Javy Báez, more damning news from the organization has emerged to pile on woes for the fan base.

On Wednesday, reports announced that Mets General Manager Zack Scott had been arrested after police found the executive drifting off behind the wheel at around 4 a.m. early Tuesday morning. Scott was subsequently released and will be due in court on Thursday.

According to the New York Post, the GM was given a field sobriety test after struggling to stay alert on the road, then booked for drunk driving. MLB Insider Jeff Passan released a timeline of the evening leading up to the arrest, suggesting that Scott was on his way home after attending a fundraiser hosted by Mets owner Steve Cohen.

Mets fans hope to catch a break in the near future after a slew of shameful headlines have become the identity of the franchise since Sunday's Báez announcement.

From validating boos and missing earrings, to bailing out executives after a string of spritzes in New York's White Plains, Mets fans would be smart to keep shielding their eyes and ears when it comes to any breaking news.
