The organization is a shipwreck from top to bottom, explaining ownership’s push to sell the team this past offseason. Nimmo clearly doesn’t trust management in New York and no one’s going to blame him, considering the team’s past. For all we know both stories could be true. Yoenis Cespedes broke his ankle in the 2019 fighting off a wild boar, so why the hell would we be shocked he quit his job cold turkey? The Mets and Cespedes are in what looks like a race to tarnish their names, so we’ll see who comes out on top.
