ESPN Reporter Pulled From Broadcast Over DUI Arrest

ESPN college football reporter Harry Lyles, Jr. was pulled from covering the Week 9 slate of games due to his DUI arrest from the week prior. Per the New York Post, the DUI occurred during College GameDay's visit to Los Angeles, highlighting the Oregon Ducks vs. UCLA Bruins matchup on Saturday, Oct 23.

The incident was reported by LAPD Hollywood Division's Twitter account Sunday (Oct 24), claiming Lyles was highly intoxicated when his vehicle rammed into the back of a police vehicle.

The Division's details of the incident read:

“Last night, 2 of our officers were stopped at a marked crosswalk as a pedestrian crossed the street. While they were stopped, a vehicle rear ended the back of their car. The driver of that car vehicle was 3x the legal limit and subsequently arrested.”

Lyles released a public apology on Twitter early Friday (Oct 29).

“I deeply regret what occurred and take full responsibility for my actions. I have and will continue to fully cooperate with authorities and look forward to resolving this expeditiously.”
