Sunday, Matt Patricia’s Lions blew another unthinkable fourth-quarter lead. This time, his team couldn’t hold onto a 23-6 advantage over a guy named Mitch Trubisky.
The few individuals who have watched the Lions since he took over as coach are starting to realize: this guy isn’t any good.
According to Patricia, though, he’s pretty good.
Here’s the losing head coach after his embarrassing loss:
Lions head coach Matt Patricia was asked if there's something in his coaching "that isn't happening enough in the fourth quarter."
"Yeah, I don't think so," Patricia said. "I think I got probably one of the biggest plays in the fourth quarter in the history of the NFL." pic.twitter.com/chcqBLXF6U

“I don’t think so,” he claims.
Mr. Biggest Play Ever in 4th is now 9-23-1 as head coach. That is awful and it is getting worse. Patricia can’t coach and he can’t do anything right once his team takes a big lead. He’s so used to his failures, they don’t faze him.
No lead in Detroit is safe. Terrible.
Nice work Bobby. As per usual, blowing a 17 point 4th qtr lead wasn’t cruel enough for this team. The Lions had to to sneak in a wide open end zone drop on the 2nd to last play. Ball hit both hands and numbers. I deserve this.
Patricia looks like he slimmed down quite a bit. At least there’s that.
There was a reason for the blown lead. Three Lions CBs out with hamstring injuries. Kudos to Lions for not using injuries as an excuse. https://www.outkick.com/david-chao-md-was-it-trubisky-or-hamstring-injuries-that-left-lions-hamstrung/
Talk about being not self aware lets be honest he isn’t very good next!
Can’t believe the Lions blew that game! Matt Stafford is in Barry Sanders quandry with the Lions. Great talent with no supporting cast.
Stafford did throw a perfect pass that was dropped by Swift in the end zone. They blew the lead but should have won still.
Other than Rocket Science or whatever he did prior to joining Belichick, this guy seems terrible at a lot of stuff. Terrible looking, terrible at coaching, are the two we can confirm.
Same old Lions. Snatch defeat from victory only to have a sure victory dropped. I feel bad for Stafford. Don’t kid yourself, there is talent on this team. Losing a starting LB and seemingly every CB didn’t help, but once again coaching failed the team in crunch time. Detroit has now blown 8 4th Q leads in its past 17 games .
