Marco Rubio crushes Florida State
Senator Marco Rubio is a Florida grad and he's running for President. He also went to Miami for law school. What do those two schools have in common? A tremendous hate for Florida State.
So last Friday Rubio came off the top rope on the Seminoles, delivering what is, quite probably, the most crushing college football trash talk from a Presidential candidate on record.
"Look, I don't have anything against Florida State," Rubio said. "I think there has to be a school where people who can't get into Florida can go to college. And so that's why we have Florida State."
Walk off.
You can listen to the entire interview below.
One other good line from Rubio, who is also a huge Miami Dolphins fan.
"Not only do I not like the Patriots, I'd like to see Brady suspended for 16 games because it hurts my Dolphins. So I probably won't win New Hampshire because of that."
Given that college football fans are a huge part of the voting public, I would like to personally extend an invite to all candidates to appear on the Outkick podcast or our college football show. In fact, we've already got one major candidate lined up.
UPDATE:
FSU president John Thrasher has fired back at Rubio:
“He’s a nice kid,” said FSU President John Thrasher, who served with Rubio in Florida legislature. “I’m sure he’s frustrated by his low standing in the polls, which I believe could be a reflection of where he got his education.”
Ether.
For his part Rubio is now flip flopping on his trash talk, sending out this Tweet this morning:
