LSU Loses Key Lineman Dare Rosenthal To Transfer Portal

LUS seemed to have it all on the offensive line -- depth, experience, camaraderie. But those good vibes have taken a bit of a hit, as junior left tackle Dare Rosenthal has entered the transfer portal.

This is a bit of a blow for the Tigers. Rosenthal has very clearly been on the rise and may have even been the team's most talented offensive lineman. But a violation of team rules led to some disciplinary action, and he's decided to take his talents someplace else.

Rosenthal started every game last season but the two for which he was suspended by the coaching staff. Details of his rules violation were never revealed. Clearly, neither Rosenthal nor the coaches were on the same page.

While there's no official word on where Rosenthal will land next, there's been widespread speculation that Baylor is on his radar. The Bears have several former members of Ed Orgeron's LSU coaching staff in their program.

The list of potential Rosenthal replacements presumably includes youngsters such as Xavier Hill, Marcus Dumervil and early-enrollee Garrett Dellinger.

The Tigers open the season Saturday, Sept. 4 at UCLA. You can check out their full schedule here.
