Los Angeles Welcomes Jimmy Smith To Town, Cornerback Robbed At Gunpoint

Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith and his family were robbed at gunpoint Tuesday at a Los Angeles hotel after being followed from the airport to their hotel, according to the 10-year NFL vet.

"Tuesday night was one of the scariest nights I’ve been apart of. Was followed from LAX to my hotel 40 miles away to have my 3 men Rob us at gunpoint. My sons seen it but don’t think he fully understood what was happening to his parents. Just a vey scary situation and a reminder that people truly hungry and will do anything in this pandemic. Be careful and always watch your surroundings," Smith said on Facebook without expanding how he knew the robbers were fueled by the pandemic.

Friday afternoon the Los Angeles Police Department told the Baltimore Sun that it didn't have a report of the Tuesday night incident. Smith went to high school in Colton, California, which is east of Los Angeles.
