Linemaker Poll: Week of October 15

The BCS unveiled their rankings this past weekend but how does the first installment match up with the way Vegas ranks the field?

Each week the most talented bookmakers and industry insiders in Vegas collaborate to produce the Don Best Linemaker poll. The major difference between the Vegas poll and those of the AP/Coaches is the guys responsible for establishing a point spread on every game have to be precise.  Wins and losses are only one component meaning you won't see huge drops after one poor performance.

Moving Up: Texas Tech climbed 10 spots on the strength of a great effort vs West Virginia.  Red Raider nation benefits from a surging OKlahoma team as well, proving their loss 2 weeks ago against the Sooners was just a minor setback.

Moving Down: With their loss to Iowa, Michigan St is the biggest casualty falling from 24th to unranked in this week's poll.  Ohio State and Nebraska remain the only Big Ten sides in the top 20 as the conference continues to take hits in their overall power profile.

Next Ten: Rutgers (AP-19), Michigan State, Cincinnati (AP-21), Tennessee, North Carolina State (AP-30)  Virginia Tech, Arkansas, Baylor, Penn State (AP-37), Brigham Young.

Dropped out of Don Best Linemakers Poll Top 30: Michigan State (24), Tennessee (T-26).

Teams in AP Top 25 not in Don Best Top 30: Cincinnati (AP-21),  Rutgers (AP-19) , Ohio (AP-25).

Games Vegas will be watching closely: Oregon (-9.5) @ Arizona State, BYU (+14) @ Notre Dame, Texas Tech (-2.5) @ TCU, Kansas St (+2.5) @ West Virginia, LSU (-3.5) @ Texas A&M, South Carolina (+3) @ Florida,
