LiAngelo -- The Least Talented Ball -- Gets Another Chance In NBA Summer League

Two Balls are better than one, right? That's the opinion of the Charlotte Hornets, at least for the time being. LiAngelo Ball, brother to reigning NBA Rookie of the Year LaMelo and free agent guard Lonzo, has received an invite to hoop for the Hornets' summer league team.

In the unlikely event LiAngelo makes the squad, he'd join brother LaMelo who's coming off a superb rookie season in which he averaged 15.7 points, 5.9 rebounds and 6.1 assists, cementing his status as the face of the franchise.

This is LiAngelo's latest attempt to try and secure a spot in the NBA alongside his brothers. Lonzo was taken second overall in the 2017 draft, and LaMelo was nabbed by Charlotte with last season's third pick. After a short stint at UCLA, LiAngelo went undrafted in 2018 and has since bounced around summer league, the G-League, overseas, and Pistons training camp. Thus far, the NBA has treated LiAngelo like a typical middle child. He was cut from the Pistons prior to the first preseason tilt.

But let's face it, if he could Ball like his brothers, he'd already be earning an NBA pension.

That being said, Charlotte's decision to bring LiAngelo to summer league could be a precursor to a full-on Ball reunion in Buzz city. Rumors are already circulating that free agent Lonzo could find an avenue to sign with LaMelo and the Hornets.

Should LiAngelo make the squad and Lonzo sign in free agency, three Balls in Charlotte would give the Hornets more than just a deeper voice. They'd become must-see TV.
