Let's Get It On! Big John McCarthy Got Beat Up By A Tree Over The Weekend

Big John McCarthy, the towering former UFC ref who checks in at 6'3 & 260 pounds, got curb stomped over the long holiday weekend by a huge tree limb that left the heavyweight barely able to speak. "Tree vs. Big John round one...I'm going 10-6 tree...this thing should have been stopped long ago," McCarthy wrote on Instagram before telling people that he was diagnosed with six broken ribs and a punctured lung.

The Tennessee resident later updated everyone on Memorial Day to say that it was still hard to breathe and laughing, sneezing or coughing are huge issues as anyone with broken ribs and a punctured lung will tell you.

Big John, 58, who now serves as a Bellator color commentator, says carpenter ants had eaten away at the wood causing the tree to split, and he was just trying to clean out the mess when the old-timer decided to fight back.

This guy's clearly about that Thursday Night Mowing League lifestyle, but this just goes to show you nature can reach out and try to take you out without notice. Be careful out there fellas. Or leave the big limbs for the young tree trimmer guys to wrangle.
