Lane Kiffin In Win Column at Ole Miss, Mark Stoops Chases Down Officials

Lane Kiffin is in the win column at Ole Miss. After the Rebels lost their season opener to Florida last week, Ole Miss defeated Kentucky 42-41 in overtime today.

The game went to overtime tied at 35. Kentucky scored a quick touchdown, but kicker Matt Ruffolo missed an extra point. Ole Miss got the ball, drew a defensive pass interference penalty, and scored on a three-yard Matt Corral touchdown pass to Elijah Moore.

After the game, Kentucky coach Mark Stoops chased down the officials:

The SEC Network camera cuts away from Stoops right before he reaches the officials so we can’t see if he ever made contact, but he was definitely upset.

    • The UK players and coaching staff participated in a BLM march after George Floyd, but I wouldn’t attribute any “karmic retribution” to that. If there is karmic retribution, it occurred in the early 1950s when UK bought the basketball coach Adolph Rupp a new Cadillac and didn’t buy one for their football coach, one Paul “Bear” Bryant, Bryant felt slighted and left and took the A&M job and eventually the Bama job. UK has had a terrible or at best mediocre football program since.
