Kiffin Reveals Text Chat: "We All Have The Same Father"

Just ahead of the Ole Miss-Alabama matchup, Lane Kiffin dropped a historic one-liner in a text thread to former Alabama assistants. Kiffin revealed on the Paul Finebaum Show that he has a text thread between Jeremy Pruitt, Kirby Smart, and Will Muschamp where he says:

"Yeah we all have the same father," Kiffin said via text.

Hysterical, but also incredibly self aware. This is of course referencing the winless record Saban's former assistants have head-to-head with Alabama.

"I'm willing to bet you that group text has a common theme, and that is Nick Saban," Finebaum added. He's probably right. "I know all those people. When you work under Nick Saban as long as Kirby--and Muschamp to a certain degree, obviously Lane and Will--you never quite get over it." The only way to get over it out of your system is to talk to someone who has been in a familiar situation."

Kiffin wants to get the last laugh like anybody else with their boss, but he used this time to make fun of himself. Funniest people on earth have an ability to make themselves the joke. Ole Miss opens up as 23-point underdogs with Bama tonight and Lane's obviously hoping for some positive momentum. We wish him the best of luck.
