Justin Herbert started for the Los Angeles Chargers today. The sixth overall pick in the NFL Draft, Herbert is making his first ever start. This came completely out of nowhere — Tyrod Taylor didn’t exactly play well last week against the Bengals — we was 16-30 for 208 yards and no picks or touchdowns — but the Chargers won the game.
Nothing I saw all week gave any indication that Herbert would be starting this game, and then he rushed for a touchdown on his first drive under center:

When’s the last time something like this happened?
Update: Tyrod Taylor apparently got hurt during pregame warmups:
Chargers’ QB Tyrod Taylor hurt his chest after pregame warmups today, right before kickoff. His return today is questionable. https://t.co/NARpmIq8Rm
