Just Like They Drew It Up! Texas HS Turns In One Of The Craziest Touchdowns of 2020

Videos by OutKick

The Mission Veterans Memorial (TX) football team might’ve lost 49-35 Friday night to Sharyland Pioneer (Mission, TX), but it took home a consolation prize in the form of one of the craziest high school touchdowns of the year. Vets quarterback Ricky Reyna’s rocket to receiver AJ Gonzaque (6-foot, 184 lbs.) took time to develop, but it resulted in a miraculous touchdown and it’s going to turn into a whole bunch of eyeballs for a 2022 quarterback and a 2021 receiver who has been receiving offers from FCS schools.

Reyna and Gonzaque don’t even have to beg teams to look at their tape. Tape finds recruiters when you turn in a Kyler Murray to DeAndre Hopkins type play. Eventually, Kyler and DeAndre see the clip on Instagram and give you a shoutout. That leads to low-level FBS schools taking notice. Good for everyone involved here. Pioneer gives up a miraculous play, but still wins. The Mission Veterans team gets national exposure. Everyone wins and the 2020 high school football season rolls on in Texas.
