Julio Jones And Shannon Sharpe Getting Slammed Over Comments Made During Live Call-In On FS1

Monday's back and forth between former NFL Hall of Fame tight end Shannon Sharpe and current Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones is still the talk of the league a few days later.

Now there could be a stiff price to pay for the chatter between the two.

During the conversation, which aired live on FS1’s Undisputed, Jones spoke about his situation with the team that drafted him ten years ago, the Atlanta Falcons.

“I’m out of there," Jones said about Atlanta, a city that has been the home for Jones the last 10 seasons since he was the 11th pick in the first round in 2011.

FrontOfficeSports.com reports that staffers Michael McCarthy and A.J. Perez say that Atlanta is not happy at all about the conversation.

The site reports that it's a “massive stink bomb.”

The chat does nothing to get Jones back on the happy train and back in the good graces of the team. Instead, it undermines any deals the Falcons, who are in desperate need of more cap space, try and land. Right now, Jones is set to make a massive $15 million in 2021, an amount they simply cannot afford.

“It’s become a huge deal,” an unnamed source told the publication.

It sounds like both Jones and Sharpe could be in some pretty big trouble for their mess-up. Jones will probably say that he didn't know he was being recorded, and rightfully so.

He's not wrong in that regard, BUT he's also got to be more responsible for being on the air ANYWHERE, especially when you say you're leaving the team you are with.
