Walmart Calls Josh Hawley ‘Sore Loser’ Before Deleting Tweet like a Loser

Twitter fights are refreshing, and someone in them always has to take the L. For an example, look at Walmart today.

Someone at Walmart, likely a woke intern, was really bothered with the news that Missouri Republican Sen. Josh Hawley will object to the certification of the Electoral College vote on Jan. 6. The employee used the main Walmart account to call Hawley a #soreloser, then quickly took it down.

It turns out, the maybe woke intern was logged into the wrong account. Using the Walmart Inc. account, another nameless Walmart employee explained:

“The tweet published earlier was mistakenly posted by a member of our social media team. We deleted the post and have no intention of commenting on the subject of certifying the electoral college. We apologize to Senator Hawley for this error and any confusion about our position.

Got that? They are sorry for the confusion.

One of the quickest Twitter Ls in recent memory, no?

  1. The fact Walmart has someone with such political opinions responsible for their Twitter communications still says all we need to know, regardless of whether they were “logged in” to the right account or not. Let’s just be honest, all the big mega corporations hate Trump and his supporters, because he wants a level playing field. He’s not into crony capitalism like the establishment. He’s also not a fan of their pimp, China.

  2. At this level, (a Fortune 1 Company!), a manager or, director has to to sign off on all social posts as Austin points out.

From previous experience, had a direct-report posted this without my knowing they would be canned immediately by me personally. If I let this out knowingly, an Exec VP would watch me clean out my desk and get escorted out of the building by security.

  3. Screw Walmart. Their “apology” is a lie.
Their stores are often dirty and filled with Chinese crap and plumber’s-crack customers.
This will be an easy boycott.
Good to know that Woj and Walmart hate the same U.S.Senator, though.

  4. I’ve not gone to Wal Mart in over a decade with two exceptions – emergency glasses repair [they couldn’t help, as it turns out, and I’m blind as a bat without lenses so I had few options] and then when I had to get an ethernet cord really quick when moving to my condo. Two main reasons – one, it’s a zoo, and two, they’re responsible for starting the shift of manufacturing going over to China. The industry that my father was in, and who was fired after 40 years due to downsizing from the death of American commercial manufacturing. I’ve been saying FUCK WALMART for years.

  5. Perhaps Sean Hannity will now retire his stale “smelly Wal-Mart voters” schtick. Wal-Mart is not your friend, lower prices be damned. I’ve avoided their “made in China” big box stores for years, but have been patronizing their neighborhood food market for a while due to its proximity. No more. I’ll pay up for food going forward at another market, but it’ll be a much more pleasant shopping experience.

One woke social media employee cost them $3K+ a year in sales from this former sucker.
