Josh Gordon Has His Reinstatement Revoked

Finally an update on Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Josh Gordon, and unfortunately, it’s sad news. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Gordon’s reinstatement has been rescinded, and he is, again, suspended indefinitely.

A real shame that Roger Goodell is doubling as a parole officer.

After Gordon was suspended in December of 2019, he was later reinstated by the Seahawks in September of 2020. That move actually gave fans hope that he would be here for the long haul, but that didn’t last long.

In Week 16 of this past year, Gordon was expected to resume practice until he reportedly “failed to meet all conditions of his reinstatement”.

Maybe the NFL should cut the guy some slack? You’d think Josh Gordon was sneaking crystal meth into Seahawks’ facilities, but instead, it’s marijuana. Hopefully Gordon gets an opportunity down the road for a true fresh start instead of being watched over like he isn’t 29-years-old.

Gordon hits free agency at season’s end, so we can assume whoever takes a flyer has a long wait on their hands before he hits the field. Unfair.

  1. Yep, Josh is the victim. Call it what it is. He is an undisciplined adolescent walking around in an adult’s body. He’s had people covering for him, making excuses for him, coddling him, and enabling him his whole life because he runs fast and jumps high. Gordon is responsible for his own actions, and the consequences thereof, period end.

    • EXACTLY. It ain’t just weed with this dude. He’s been on more than that since his days in HS. Hell, he’s had coaches that would take HIS drug tests for him so he could still get on the field and play. To be direct, I’m tired of hearing about him. Fix it, or don’t, but the NFL ain’t for you (and hasn’t been for years) homie.

    • Agreed. Josh Gordon is no victim. It doesn’t matter if he took one of his girlfriend’s hydrocodone’s and it showed up in his piss. He has been given the parameters to returning and this dude can’t abide. One, he clearly has an addiction problem if he can’t stay off of weed at least until he is cleared of the extra testing and scrutiny. Two, if it isn’t an addiction problem, then Gordon is just a low life dumb ass.
