Josh Allen, Bills Playing Hardball On Extension Talks

Josh Allen has earned a massive payday.

Over his first three seasons in the NFL, the Wyoming product has steadily improved his impact and his numbers, including passing yards, completion percentage, touchdown-to-interception ratio and overall team record.

In other words, things are moving in the right direction for Allen and the Buffalo Bills, and it is now time to start considering a long-term contract extension. Everyone knows a new deal is coming, but the sides reportedly aren't close to an agreement yet. That was made clear in a recent quote from general manager Brandon Beane.

“Josh and I have spoken,” Beane said, via Chris Brown. “We’d love to get Josh extended, but it has to be a number that works for him and us. We’re all on same page. Josh wants to be here. That gives me hope we’ll get something done at some point. Can’t guarantee it’ll be this year.”

Look, this deal is getting done. Allen has proven he's an elite franchise quarterback, and there's no way the higher ups in Buffalo would allow him to hit free agency. It's only a matter of time before he signs that long-term deal he's earned.

But for now, we'll let the two sides play hardball. In most cases, that's just a part of the process.
