John Harbaugh: Lamar Jackson ‘Better Than Expected’ In Camp Debut

Star quarterback Lamar Jackson is back on the practice field after missing eight straight days following a positive COVID-19 test, as anyone who follows the Baltimore Ravens can see.

That’s because the Ravens posted a video of Jackson throwing the football and looking good.

Jackson, of course, has refused to get vaccinated — and despite of that, has fully recovered. Saturday marked Jackson’s first full-team practice heading into the 2021 season.

“I thought he looked really good. I thought he looked better than I expected him to,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh told reporters. “COVID is tough. He had symptoms. He had a lot of symptoms. It speaks to how well he took care of himself during that time. It was a good first step.”

The Ravens open the preseason next weekend, and Jackson is expected to play. They open the regular season Sept. 13 on the road against the Las Vegas Raiders.

“I don’t think it’s going to be that hard for him,” Harbaugh said. “He’s already been through most of the offense. He’s played in games for a number of years. He’s been through this. [The offense is] on the beltway, and we’re moving at about 75-plus [mph]. He’s going to merge right in there.”

  1. Harbaugh spends more time publicly sucking up to this kid more than any player I’ve ever seen. You’ve got to wonder is it for their own personal reverse psychology reasons?

    • I think it pretty clearly is. I think Lamar is about to have his worst season by far he clearly can’t handle the pressure of playoff football I mean he mentally crumbles faster then a deck of cards. Now he has that hovering over him while entering a contract year at the same time I see a recipe for disaster in Baltimore this season.
