John Harbaugh Has Not Received Any Contact From NFL After Lowering Mask To Yell At Official

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh hasn't received any contact from the NFL after lowering his mask to argue with an official. It's possible that Harbaugh raised an argument the league couldn't deny: expecting three hours of perfection isn't realistic.

"I understand that we're all chasing perfection. We try to be as perfect as we can. It's a pretty hard standard to hold other people to. But to try to do the best you can. That's all I really have to say about it."

That statement can be translated as such: I'm required to keep my mask on for hours at a time and I can't chew out the official appropriately without pulling my mask down for 10 seconds. Get off my back.

John has a pretty decent point that demanding a mask to be flawlessly worn throughout work is difficult. We aren't used to being uncomfortable, smelling our own breath, and not being able to yell for hours. It's not impossible, but perfection is in unrealistic.

John also argued to ESPN's Jamison Hensley that there's no staff that's taking protocols as serious as is own.

"I don't think there is anybody better than us, me or our staff, from beginning to the end of the game," Harbaugh said. "To think in a three-hour competitive environment when you're yelling, that your mask isn't going to fall down for 5 to 10 seconds--I don't think anybody could be held to that standard."

Love how he added in "fall down" like his mask slipped. Ha.

He's absolutely right that just because Twitter complains a coach momentarily broke protocol, doesn't mean punishment needs to follow.
