John Clayton Says Las Vegas Has Eyes On Steelers Free Agent WR JuJu Smith-Schuster

Videos by OutKick

This offseason, the Las Vegas Raiders are on the lookout for a stud wide receiver to catch passes from whoever lines up at quarterback.

One player to watch out for is Steelers soon-to-be free agent wide out JuJu Smith-Schuster, who will get plenty of interest on the market if Pittsburgh does not lock him down first.

Smith-Schuster just wrapped up his fourth season with the Steelers, catching 97 passes for 831 yards and six scores.

Over his time in the Steel City, Smith-Schuster has 308 catches for 3726 yards and 26 scores. His best season came in 2018 when he caught 111 passes for 1426 yards and seven touchdowns and was voted the team MVP by his teammates.

Nelson Agholor has been a leader for the Raiders, but the Raiders also want to add a big name playmaker at the receiver spot, according to ESPN Seattle’s John Clayton.

Clayton says that Smith-Schuster is a very likely target for the Raiders.

While there’s no question that Smith-Schuster is a solid wide out, the Steelers had their issues with him off the field, first with his ridiculous ritual of dancing on the midfield sign of visiting stadiums, which eventually ticked off teams. Then he called the Cleveland Browns the “same old Browns” prior to the team’s AFC Wild Card game. The Browns proceeded to go out and crush the Steelers 48-37, even though they were missing their head coach and a number of players.

Many think that it would be good for Smith-Schuster and the Steelers to part ways this offseason, and with so many teams showing interest in acquiring him via free agency, that just may happen.
