Giving up a "demoralizing" bomb touchdown with five seconds left to Carr/Ruggs was one of the best plays in Jets history pic.twitter.com/L8dfNk0esO

The Jets preserved their pole position for the first overall pick in the NFL Draft and generational talent Trevor Lawrence by losing in the final seconds to the Raiders on the above bomb from Derek Carr to Henry Ruggs Jr. Jets fans are ecstatic, but the players are not.
In the postgame press conference, Jets safety Marcus Maye is ripping defensive coordinator Gregg Williams’ play call:
Marcus Maye criticizes Gregg Williams: “It’s gotta be a better call.” #Jets

“We have to execute, but you have to help us out at the same time” – #Jets safety Marcus Maye
Holy cow. He is going in on defensive coordinator Gregg Williams.

Marcus Maye has said four times the #Jets “should have been in a better call.” Said there are “a lot of emotions” going on in the locker room right now & he’s just trying to keep everyone together.

Marcus Maye clearly not happy with Gregg Williams. He keeps repeating they needed a better call.

This is the time of year where these types of soundbites start to fly on dejected teams. It’s hard for us to know from the outside what proportion of the blame to assign to the players versus coaches. Regardless, it was fortunate for the long-term prospects of the franchise.
He got burnt all day
Why are you biting on a double move in an obvious 9 situation, homie? Not that Williams isn’t an idiot for not giving you safety help.
