Jets Offensive Lineman Getting The Hype Train Going, Declares Left Side Is 'Jordan-Pippen'

Jets offensive lineman Mekhi Becton hasn't been afraid of the spotlight since the day he arrived in New York. On Monday, the Jets held their first organized team activities, and Becton was back on the hype train. This time, he's pumped up for his team sidekick and rookie guard Alijah Vera-Tucker.

Most NFL executives praised the Jets when they traded up for Tucker, and now Becton claims he and Tucker can be the next coming of Jordan and Pippen. I actually like it and here's why:

"JORDAN AND PIPPEN!!! Mark my words!!!" Becton tweeted.

I know most of you are thinking these type of expectations scream Vince Young's "Dream Team" comment, but they really don't. What's important here is that Becton is pumping up the hype for the offensive line, not the receiver or any other position that takes away from the team mentality.

He wants to dominate the trenches, and if that happens, the team will win. Most NFL teams with a duo of dominating linemen will have a decent shot of winning football games.

Becton calling attention to himself and Tucker also puts a spotlight on the Jets offensive line, rather than on rookie quarterback Zach Wilson. The Jets know pressure will be on Wilson. This year's offensive line also knows that if they can apply pressure on themselves and make a diamond, then they can build something special in New York.

However, if Tucker doesn't pan out -- well, we have a problem, don't we? No pressure.
