Jason Day Makes Clay Proud, Hits Tee Shot Into A Bird's Nest
Thursday it was Justin Rose shanking a ball over a bunch of Florida white hairs and nearly hitting a truck. Friday it's Jason Day hitting a ball into a bird's nest at the Arnold Palmer Invitational where the pros are making Clay proud with a variety of wild shots that remind us of the OutKick founder whacking balls onto a Gulf of Mexico beach.
Day's adventure came on the par-5 16th hole where his tee shot never came down BECAUSE IT WAS STUCK IN A BIRD'S NEST. It's unclear where Day found binoculars, but he used them to spot the ball in the tree and talk a rules official into letting him take an unplayable drop at the tree.
Still, he ended up with a double-bogey seven on the hole, which hurts bad because No. 16 is playing as the easiest hole. Day is 2-under and will make the cut, even after the bird's nest fiasco and finishing his round two over.
