Jared Goff’s Girlfriend, Christen Harper, Gets Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Call

Christen Harper, the model girlfriend of Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff, realized a dream Monday when she announced that she’d been called up to the big time and will do a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model test shoot. Some models dream of walking the famous stages in Milan and New York. Harper dreamt of exotic beaches and bodies of water made famous by all those swimsuit models who came before her.

“I can finally say I’m going to be shooting for @si_swimsuit ! This has been a dream my ENTIRE LIFE,” Harper wrote on Instagram Monday announcing the big news. “SI is the reason I became a model and for years I tried to get a casting with them but never quite made it. Instead of just accepting that and moving on I decided to take things into my own hands and chase this dream myself! This is a sign to go after your dreams and never look back!!! Thank you @mj_day & @si_swimsuit team for this incredible opportunity and to the @si_swimsearch community for being the most uplifting, inspiring & beautiful people I have ever met.”

Now, there have been very few wins lately for the city of Detroit, but this is definitely something Lions fans can rally around. Matthew and Kelly Stafford left town an exhausted married couple with four young girls. Enter Goff, 26, and his new Sports Illustrated swimsuit model. This is exactly the type of jolt that the D needs right now.

“I remember rushing to the newsstand after school to pick up the 2011 issue with Irina Shayk on the cover. I was so blown away by Irina’s beauty that I taped her cover to my school binder so I could look at it everyday,” Harper told PEOPLE.

15 finalists will now battle it out for six spots in the 2021 magazine.
